Bangkok not only is a place for the grown ups but it has something for every child, the city caters to all types of fun activities. Young ones or teenagers can have lots of fun here and the possibilities are endless. They can explore the city, fascinating underwater life, exciting boat trips, water parks. Apart from temples and cultural activities the kids will be having so much fun.
I have listed some of the top attractions which are not to be missed and it will be a fun filled day for the family. Enjoy the outings.
Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World
A great place to visit, it is located at the ultra-modern department store called Siam Paragon. It is an aquatic as big as 3 olympic swimming pools, full of interesting animals from the deep ocean. This underground aquarium is one of the biggest in South East Asia, it will entertain you with innovative out of this world exhibits and over 30,000 curious looking creatures from different depths and aquatic regions across the globe.
You will be able to meet some of the impressive world record holders here, transported directly from the Amazon river or the Jurassic period when dinosaurs were still on earth. The main feature is a 270 degree underwater tunnel, kids and adults will love this also. If you really want them to have an adventure then you can dive in and have a swim amongst the oceans deep.
A few hours at SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World will be as educational as it is exhilarating and one to remember for a long time.
Kidzania Bangkok Siam Paragon
The latest and most innovative edition to attractions in Bangkok. Fun has been raised to another level and it is unlike anything I have seen before, my kids love this place and always want to go back again.
Kidzania originated by from Mexico and they have continued to open family entertainment venues since 1999, located all over the world, Bangkok is one of the latest cities to be honored to showcase it.
When you first see it, you would think its another one of those mini towns with European style houses, but really it’s something else, well executed craftsmanship, a deeper level of education is experienced by the kids here.
Every shop and building at Kidzania is a fun learning experience for children from 5 to 15 years old, it’s not boring at all and the kids get to be involved in all the shops, its well executed and the kids will love it. The range of experiences is so unique as there are approximately 80 different jobs to choose from, either being a dentist to flying a Boeing 737 airplane, tackle a fire with real water and ride the fire truck to the scene. Rescue people with a small ambulance and take them to a mini hospital where they can use almost real equipment. The whole experience is so realistic just in a smaller version. Kids can also report a news flash from a TV studio, I wish that all real life jobs were as fun as this.
Parents don’t interfere or participate as each activity consists of small groups, its the perfect kids world, parents get to see their kids performing and can relax and take lasting photos from a memorable day out.
The main concept of Kidzania is “HOW-DO-THEY-DO-IT”
Funarium
Located at Sukhumvit soi 26, this is an indoor play centre spanning over 2,000 square meters and sectioned into 4 zones. Youngsters up to 4 years old get to crawl or walk on a safe, soft padded surface and enjoy playing with the impressive mini 2 lane slider and small ball pool. Children aged 4 and above get to experience the 2 story playing structure, ideal for jumping, climbing, crawling and balancing great skills needed for the kids. There is also Trampolines, large 4 lane slider that parents can join together with their little ones.
A sports area designed to promote athletic skills and exercise, start them early. It features bicycle rink, basketball, football courts. One of favorites for the toddlers is the sand and water zone.
All the equipment here is imported from England and is cleaned and maintained regular. This is one of most popular venues among the parenting community here in Bangkok. It will keep the kids active and you will not have to worry about the heat and any sudden downpours.
A great venue also if you wish to hold a birthday party, some of my friends have used the venue before and the feedback was excellent, friendly staff and kids will be talking about it for days, treat them now for the time of their life.
Madame Tussauds Bangkok
The world famous Madame Tussauds finally arrived in Bangkok and it is brilliant. Millions of tourists have visited since it first opened the first one over 200 years ago and remains as popular as today as it ever was.
Visitors get the unique opportunity to take an emotional journey through the realm of the powerful and famous. Get up and close personal with the worlds most talked about people and relive the times, events and moments that made the world to talk about them. a fantastic education opportunity for the children.
There is a full line up of celebrities and leaders, actors actresses as well as Asian stars, I would not want to spoil and let you know all the names of the famous waxworks which are on display, but the Madame Tussauds is absolutely well with a visit with the children and a great way to spend some free time in the city together.
Benjasiri Park
Where would a great place for kids to let off steam be without a visit to a park?
The park is small and very well kept just off Sukhumvit road. It was built in honour of Her Majesty the Queen’s60th birthday in 1992. It’s is a favorite recreational spot among local residents. It has many activities including basketball courts, skateboard park and a swimming pool. It has many interesting sculptures and a great man made lake. Beautiful landscaping and an array of traditional Thai flowers and plants.
Benjasiri park is ideal for young children, 2 large playgrounds cater to kids of all ages. Each area is equipped with slides, climbing frames, swings and rubber flooring for protection. Children will also enjoy feeding the fish and turtles that live in the lake. There is also a musical dancing fountain show that can be seen regularly throughout the day.
